I have been told I shouldn’t continue my art because:

-It’s been done before
-No one’s gonna see it
-It’s not going to amount to anything
-It’s not gonna get me money

But if it gets me happiness, that’s all I could ask for.

I find it funny how much my phone’s been affected by the stuff I look at and appreciate

I’m watching an older GTLive stream
and I wanted to see some corresponding tweets that had been happening during that stream

then I came across one that basically insulted MatPat
something like involving how he’s the worst or doesn’t care about his fans or something else that’s completely… incorrect….

without really reading it, I backed out to keep looking through tweets until I realized what I had seen

when I went back to look at that tweet
my phone straight up refused

my phone was all “nuh-uhh, MatPat’s the man”

I’m looking to get into creating games. However, I’m not well-versed in coding so (without any prior experience about it) I have no idea how to tackle any engines that might be able to do what I’m looking for. Preferably I’d like to use an engine for beginners?

I’m particularly interested in creating a 2D platformer (MetroidVania-like) game, a few specific examples that I would like to draw inspiration from would be games like “Reaper: Tale of a Pale Swordsman,” “Freedom Planet,” “Dust: An Elysian Tail” or most notably, “Ori and the Blind Forest.”

I know this is unconventional to ask but I have no idea as to what else to do. Any other engines I’ve looked into confuse me, don’t do what I’m specifically looking for, or involve coding (which again I can’t do).

So please, if you’re interested and it’s not too much for you to handle, I’d love to work one-on-one with someone willing to answer my questions and/or walk me through whenever I might need it. Also it would be really helpful if you’d be okay with beta-testing it as it’s coming along.

I know it’s a lot to ask and this is probably not the most practical idea, but I really am stuck.

I finally caught up… and I realized

I hate this damn show
